Business Update June 2020

Author: Extra UK | Wed, 17 Jun 2020

EXTRA UK has conducted a full Risk Assessment into the working practices of all Extra staff, including the field-based roles of Area Sales Managers and Brand Specialists.

Office-based employees are continuing to work from home except where it is impractical to do so. The warranty, technical and customer service support phone lines continue to be open between 9.00 and 17.30, Monday to Friday, and our B2B website remains fully operational.

In order to resume the best possible service to our customers our field-based employees are now returning to work in accordance with Government guidelines.

This update details the steps that EXTRA is undertaking to ensure the safety of our staff and our customers.  We will periodically review our policy to ensure best-practice is maintained.

In order for the Area Sales Managers and Brand Specialists to restart visits in person we will adhere to the following practices:

  • Store Visits - Face to face customer visits will be conducted only after obtaining permission in advance.
  • Customer Rules – Where visits do take place, any controls that have been put in place by customers will be respected and adhered to, this includes the use of face coverings.
  • Social distancing – We will follow the Governments existing 2m social distancing policy and staff will not shake hands. Any group-meetings will be minimised.
  • Cleaning & Hygiene – Hand washing will occur frequently and staff will carry hand sanitiser.  Clothes used for visits will be washed at high temperature more frequently.
  • Travel – There are currently restrictions on travelling to Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and EIRE. Therefore, only visits to customers in England are permitted for the time being. This will be amended as restrictions are updated.
  • Product Samples – Product samples will only be handled by the EXTRA employee and not passed between people under any circumstances. Samples will also be wiped down following use.
  • Infection – If any staff member, including those working from home, develop any symptoms of COVID-19 they will self-isolate immediately and be tested in accordance with Government guidelines. This will activate the ‘test, track and trace’ policy to inform any contacts as implemented by the Government. Similarly, if an employee receives a notification from the ‘test, track, and trace’ service their advice will be implemented immediately, which may include self-isolation.
