Topeak Babyseat II Safety Recall

Baby Sitter II Safety RecallTopeak has announced a safety recall for the Topeak Babyseat II. 

If a child places his or her fingers in the opening at the grab bar’s hinge mechanism and the consumer (parent or guardian) lifts the grab bar to remove the child from the seat, the child’s fingertips can be caught in the hinge mechanism. If this occurs there is a possibility of a laceration and fingertip crushing hazard to the child.

This recall involves Topeak Babyseat II bicycle carrier seats with model numbers TCS2100, TCS2101 and TCS2102.  The Babyseats were sold in 3 styles, Baby seat only, Babyseatwith disc compatible rack and Babyseat with non-disc compatible rack. Sold nationwidefrom January 2009 to April 2012. Please stop use of all recalled Topeak Babyseat II™ BicycleCarrier Seats, until the safety retro fit kit has been successfully installed.
